The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) announces the availability of a draft Programmatic Agreement in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations Section 800.6(a)(4). The Final Section 106 Programmatic Agreement addresses the potential adverse effects on historic properties from the construction and operation of a new purpose-built NGA campus, known as Next NGA West, in the greater St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area. NGA determined that the development of a Programmatic Agreement, in accordance with Title 36 Code of Federal Regulations Section 800.14(b)(1)(ii), is warranted because the undertaking’s effects on historic properties cannot be determined prior to approval of the Preferred Alternative location, which has not been selected yet. NGA has developed the draft Programmatic Agreement through consultation with the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation, the Illinois State Historic Preservation Officer, the Missouri State Historic Preservation Officer, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Air Force, the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, The Osage Nation, the City of St. Louis, St. Clair County, and other interested parties.
