What is Next NGA West?
Next NGA West is the largest federal investment project in the history of St. Louis. It is a mega project jointly managed by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Air Force. The 97-acre site is located at the intersection of Jefferson and Cass Avenues in north St. Louis. The project will feature an approximately 712,000 square foot of ce building, parking garages, visitor center, inspection facility, and access control points.
What is the NGA?
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is the nation's primary source of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC). As a DOD combat support agency and a member of the IC, NGA provides GEOINT, in support of U.S. national security and defense, as well as disaster relief. GEOINT is the exploitation and analysis of imagery and geospatial information that describes, assesses and visually depicts physical features and geographically referenced activities on the Earth.
Job Opportunities
Individuals interested in working on the Next NGA West project need to prepare now by acquiring the necessary skills construction companies will be looking for to help build the Next NGA West. Once a design-build team is selected, individuals should apply directly to the construction company for open positions and employment consideration. The selected design-build team will be announced in 2019.

Construction Progress
The Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority Holdings Corporation (LCRAH) is managing site preparation of the 97-acre on behalf of the City of St. Louis site for delivery to the federal government in the summer of 2018. The demolition of buildings is complete. Site grading and the removal of streets and utilities are near completion. Once the land is transferred, construction will begin in the spring of 2019, with an expected completion date in 2024.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is responsible for constructing the facility after land transfer.
In September 2017, the USACE selected three design-build teams to compete for the design and construction contract of the Next NGA West. This evaluation of team quali cations completed the rst phase of the selection process for contract award.
